We’re excited to announce Rachel Olawale has joined SmartCo as a PMO Coordinator. Wishing you a warm welcome from the entire SmartCo team.
We sat down with Rachel to ask her a few questions about her career path, her new role at SmartCo and what she’s most looking forward to about joining.
Hi Rachel. What has been your career leading up to SmartCo?
Prior to joining SmartCo, I initially pursued a career in Real Estate after leaving University. However, I quickly realised that this path didn’t provide the level of challenge or growth I was seeking. Determined to redirect my career, I made the bold decision to upskill, earning Project Management qualifications in PRINCE2, AgilePM and AMP. In 2023, I secured my first contract project role and two years later, I can confidently say that this career change has been both fulfilling and rewarding.
What is your new role and key responsibilities?
As a PMO Coordinator, I’ll be supporting Project Managers by maintaining schedules, trackers and resourcing plans. Monitoring progress against key deliverables and ensuring project teams have the tools and support they need to succeed.
What excites you most about joining SmartCo?
I’m looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to challenging projects where I can apply and further develop the project management skills I’ve built over the past few years. I thrive in environments that require problem-solving, collaboration and structured planning.

How do you like to spend your free time?
I spend my free time going to Pilates three times a week, shopping, trying new restaurants and most importantly spending quality time with family and friends.

I love travelling and immersing myself in local cultures – sampling foods, learning customs and picking up phrases along the way. Every trip feels like a mini adventure!
